|
Pyongyang, November 8 (KCNA) -- The British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea, the British Association for the Study of Songun Policy and the British Branch of the Korean Friendship Association issued a joint statement on Nov. 2 in connection with the fact that leader Kim Jong Il gave answers to questions put by ITAR-TASS of Russia. In his answers he clarified the principled stand of the DPRK on the cause of the nuclear issue of the Korean Peninsula and the issues of resuming the six-party talks and denuclearizing the peninsula, the statement noted. Reflected in the answers is the will of the DPRK to achieve peace on the Korean Peninsula and defend the sovereignty of the country and its supreme interests, it said, and went on: The Korean Peninsula and many countries and regions of the world are exposed to the constant threat of war by the U.S. If the U.S. ignites a nuclear war on the peninsula, it will spill into a worldwide thermonuclear war. The U.S. should stop at once the hostile policy and nuclear threat toward the DPRK and withdraw its aggression forces including nuclear weapons from south Korea. The U.S. and its followers should refrain from blocking the resumption of the six-way talks while setting forth preconditions. We extend full support to the DPRK in the efforts to realize the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula on the principle of independence. |
