Pyongyang, November 9 (KCNA) -- Leader Kim Jong Il sent an autograph to officials of the Ministry of Land and Marine Transport and members of the shock brigade for construction of Tanchon Port after reading a letter they presented to him.

The letter dated Oct. 16 said the trust and loving care shown by him for the builders of the port helped them take deep roots to prop up the country and display tremendous mental power.

They built a big dock for repairing tens of thousands of ton-class freight vessels and a wharf capable of handling millions of containers as well as a new trading port in the wild sea, the letter noted, adding they have nothing to fear of.

They will give finishing touches on the project at the highest level in the same spirit with which they built the breakwater at the port and thus make the steam whistles resound through Tanchon Port next year, the letter said.
