Pyongyang, November 10 (KCNA) -- The Jangjasan Revolutionary Site is situated in Kanggye City, Jagang Province in the northern part of the DPRK. The site is associated with feats performed by leader Kim Jong Il in the period of the hard-fought Fatherland Liberation War (1950-1953). He stayed there for over twenty days from early October Juche 39 (1950). During the days he studied hard and trained himself, always paying close attention to the health of President Kim Il Sung. Two pine-nut trees he planted are still growing in the site. Also preserved there are the places where he played soldiers, practiced shooting, disseminated songs, studied, played ssirum (Korean wrestling) and drank spring water. Catching visitors' eyes are a monument to Kim Jong Il's revolutionary activities, another monument to the poem dedicated to him and the Jangjasan Revolutionary Museum. |
