Violence Is Not Solution to Crisis of Capitalism: KCNA Commentary
|
|
Pyongyang, November 14 (KCNA) -- The way of capitalist countries countering the worldwide anti-Wall Street demos is not in accordance with common sense. The United States, styling itself model of "freedom" and "democracy", and other capitalist countries treat with violence the protest actions of the working masses who have turned out in demonstrations for their vital rights. In the U.S. alone, the police violently cracked down upon the protestors and took away a lot of them in Columbia Special District, Chicago, Huston, Oregon and Texas. In Oakland a port was closed and some of the protestors were seriously wounded during the police quelling operation. Violent repression and arrest can never be a solution to the issue as those protestors are demanding vital rights. Support demos are taking place one after another across the country, including Los Angeles, New York, Milwaukee and Maryland in protest against the police's indiscriminate suppression. Witnessing this process, the world feels again that violence can never repress the advance of the working masses and reverse the trend of history. The "Occupy Wall Street" demonstration is an inevitable result of historical development caused by the structural contradiction of capitalism. Those protest actions, launched in capitalist countries under such slogans as "Occupy Washington", "Occupy Los Angeles", "Occupy Tokyo", "Occupy London Stock Exchange" and "Occupy Brisbane" are a mass struggle which erupted due to the extremely acute social and class contradiction whereby the rich get ever richer and the poor get ever poorer. Such practice has reached the limit in developed capitalist countries. Most of billionaires in the world, each with wealth of over billion U.S. dollars, are in those countries, and those who accounts for a small minority of global population have tremendous properties. On the contrary, the working masses accounting for the absolute majority live in abject poverty. It is impossible to remove the social and class contradiction in capitalist society. The governments of capitalist society pretend to show care for the people's life, talking about welfare policy but, in actuality, speak for interests of the capitalist class. In capitalist society the state is immersed in debts due to war and aggression and the working people's life is going from bad to worse. However, in disregard of such situation capitalist billionaires are employing every trick to amass their private fortune and enjoy luxury. The imperialist aggression and war policy is for profits of monopoly capitalists and emergency relief steps, taken at a time of cyclic economic crisis, are also for the capitalist class. It is also the forces speaking for the bourgeois ruling class that have kicked up a sweeping campaign for merciless suppression of the working masses who turned out in the recent protest. This structural contradiction results in ceaseless conflict in capitalist society. The internal contradiction of the capitalist world can never be settled with violence. |
