Sangwon Oak Tree

Pyongyang, November 15 (KCNA) -- Sangwon oak tree, registered as a national treasure, grows in Taedong-ri, Sangwon County, North Hwanghae Province.

The tree, which was planted in around 1,800, is 11.7 meters high, 2.6 meters round at the bottom, 2.3 meters in the middle and 14 meters in the crown.

It is ramified into two big branches at the height of 2.2 meters and five branches again to form a crown like a broad umbrella.

Its bark is black gray and egg-shaped acorns ripen in around September and October.
