Head of CPLA Delegation's Arrival Speech

Pyongyang, November 15 (KCNA) -- Li Jinai, member of the Central Military Commission of the Communist Party of China and director of the General Political Department of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, made public a written speech on his arrival in Pyongyang Tuesday.

I, on behalf of the Chinese people and army, extend heartfelt greetings and best wishes to the Korean people and army, he said in the speech, adding:

We are happy to witness the fact that the traditional China-DPRK friendship, forged and cultivated by leaders of the elder generation of the two countries, has made fresh development under the deep care of General Secretary Hu Jintao and General Secretary Kim Jong Il.

In recent years, exchanges of high-level visits have been brisk between the two countries and important common understanding reached on a series of matters including the development of bilateral friendly and cooperative relations.

My current visit to the DPRK as head of the delegation is aimed to carry into practice the common understanding achieved by party and army leaders of the two countries and consolidate the existing friendly and cooperative relations between the two peoples and the two armies, in particular.

We will, together with Korean comrades, strive for regional and global peace, stability and development, thus making new contribution.

We heartily wish that the Korean people and army would register greater successes in various fields under the leadership of the Workers' Party of Korea headed by Kim Jong Il.
