Pyongyang, November 18 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Il is not only the prominent leader of the Korean youth movement but also the beacon of hope for the world progressive youth and students.

Tiago Alexandre Ferraz Vieira, president of the World Federation of Democratic Youth, said this on Nov. 12 when meeting Kil Chol Hyok, secretary of the C.C., the Kim Il Sung Socialist Youth League who is heading the league delegation to the 18th WFDY Congress.

The president said that Kim Jong Il is leading the league to stand in the van of the federation in advancing under the banner of independence against imperialism.

We are firmly convinced that the Korean people and youth would surely build a thriving socialist nation in the near future, true to the Songun politics of Kim Jong Il, he said.
