Beijing, November 17 (KCNA) -- China commemorated the 145th birth anniversary of Sun Yat-sen, a revered revolutionary leader who played a pivotal role in overthrowing imperial rule in China.

A ceremony was held at the Zhongshan Hall of the Zhongshan Park in Beijing on Saturday, sponsored by the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.

Floral baskets were laid before the statue of Sun Yat-sen.

His birth anniversary was also commemorated in Shanghai City, Hubei Province, Guangdong Province and other regions of the country on the same day.
