Pyongyang, November 20 (KCNA) -- Leader Kim Jong Il received a letter on Nov. 12 from delegations and delegates of youth and students organizations of different countries to the 18th Conference of the World Federation of Democratic Youth.

The conference marked an important occasion in powerfully demonstrating the will of the world progressive youth and students to resolutely shatter the imperialists' moves to check the people's cause of independence through international unity and solidarity and staunchly fight imperialism, not giving it up halfway, the letter said.

It condemned the U.S. and other world reactionaries for their hostile policy toward the DPRK. We will continue waging the persistent solidarity movement of various forms in support of all the peace-loving efforts of the DPRK government, it stressed.

We will extend positive support and encouragement to the Korean people and youth in their efforts to achieve the independent and peaceful reunification of the country and national prosperity under the banner of the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration, it noted.

It expressed the belief that the Korean people and youth would certainly realize the building of a thriving socialist nation and the cause of national reunification, united close around Kim Jong Il.
