Beijing, November 22 (KCNA) -- Chinese President Hu Jintao stressed the need to develop the military science on Monday when meeting with delegates to the Seventh Party Congress of the Academy of Military Sciences.

He underlined the need to sincerely study and implement the spirit of the 6th Plenary Meeting of the 17th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and well organize various work with the main stress put on the study of military science.

By doing so, we should positively promote the prosperity and development of the Chinese military science and study and disseminate the advanced military culture of the Chinese army, he said.

He also stressed that priority should be given to the ideological and political construction, the basic construction, to steadily consolidate the ideological and political foundation and mental pillar in discharging the mission of the army.
