Pyongyang, November 24 (KCNA) -- The Invitational Table-tennis Tournament for 2011 Qatar Peace and Sport Cup was held in Qatar on November 21 and 22.

It brought together excellent players from the DPRK and south Korea, China, Russia, the United States, Pakistan, France, India, Japan and Qatar.

There were only matches of men's and women's doubles at the tournament according to a decision by the International Table Tennis Federation.

Kim Hyok Bong of the DPRK and Ryu Sung Min of south Korea won the men's doubles title by beating their Chinese and Qatari rivals 3:0 in the semifinals and Russian and U.S. rivals 3:0 in the finals.

Kim Hye Song of the DPRK and Kim Kyong A of south Korea placed second in the women's doubles.

The north and the south of Korea attended the 41st World Table-tennis Championships held in Japan in 1991 as a single team to win the women's team title.
