Pyongyang, November 24 (KCNA) -- A meeting of the Council of Defense Ministers of the Commonwealth of Independent States was held in Alamti, Kazakhstan recently.

Present there were defense ministers of the member states of the CIS.

Discussed there were the issue of improving the joint anti-aircraft system, the issue of developing cooperation based on the common interests and regional and state interests, etc.

The participants in the meeting gave concrete shape to the structure and combat composition of armed forces and means of the joint anti-aircraft defense system of about 100 units equipped with modern means for detecting and destroying aerial targets.

A joint statement was adopted at the end of the meeting.
