Tongdaewon District Juvenile Sports School

Pyongyang, November 24 (KCNA) -- The Tongdaewon District Juvenile Sports School in Pyongyang is well known in the DPRK for producing many reserve sportspersons. Ten of its graduates are honored with the titles of People's Athletes and Merited Athletes. Among them are Pae Kil Su and Choe Kwang Sok, winners of the title of Labor Hero. The school has bagged more than 20 trophies and many gold medals in various events, including gymnastics, volleyball and weightlifting. Its boys took the title in the football event and its girls in the judo event at the 48th National Games of Juvenile Sports Schools held this year. Song Jong Sik, principal of the school, told KCNA some of the graduates of the school are now active as seeded players in local teams. He vowed to do his best to train many competent sportspersons. |
