Pyongyang, November 24 (KCNA) -- The Solidarity for Progress in south Korea in a statement on Nov. 23 denounced the puppet warmongers for their reckless moves for military confrontation.

The south Korean military authorities set in motion huge armed forces to start large-scale military exercises in Yonphyong Island and Paekryong Island, a rehearsal simulating the Yonphyong Island shelling case a year ago, the statement charged.

The belligerent forces blared that the "exercises are aimed to strike not only the base of provocation but also commanding posts of all echelons including supporters in the north with the increased forces", the statement noted.

The Yonphyong Island shelling case, which occurred at the time when the military tension was running higher than ever before since the emergence of the present "government", confirmed that the clash was caused by the military authorities' bellicose action, it said, adding:

Nevertheless, the military authorities have beefed up the armed forces on five islands in the West Sea of Korea allegedly to fortify them over the past one year while staging large-scale military exercises in succession in the waters. They are now openly calling for the expansion of targets in the north to be attacked.

The statement strongly condemned the belligerent forces' reckless moves to invite the second Yonphyong Island shelling case.
