Pyongyang, November 25 (KCNA) -- All branches and units of the national economy should speed up the industrial revolution in the new century and thus bring fresh progress and changes in building a socialist economic power, Minju Joson Friday stresses in an editorial.

The announcement of the industrial revolution in the new century, made in the Songun era, is a solemn declaration of leader Kim Jong Il's unshakable resolve and will to turn the DPRK into a power of knowledge-based economy through a dynamic drive for pushing back the frontiers of latest science and technology, the editorial says.

Those with deep knowledge as well as ardent love for the country can display genuine patriotism, it says, and goes on:

The era of knowledge-based economy is that of competition in knowledge and capability. Those taking the lead in the competition can play a role of pioneer and guide of the socialist knowledge-based industry.

Scientists and technicians should set high goals for pushing back the frontiers of latest science and technology and steadily explore and master highly-advanced know-how.

Officials should become blower and accelerator propelling the industrial revolution in the new century, well aware of the noble mission they have assumed on behalf of the party and the revolution, the country and the people.

The targets to be hit are very high and there are a lot of hardships to overcome. However, the prospect of the DPRK's socialist knowledge-based industry is very bright as there are wise leadership of the Workers' Party of Korea holding aloft the banner of Songun, the people with unbounded loyalty and patriotism and a huge army of talents equipped with the Juche idea.
