Pyongyang, November 25 (KCNA) -- A spokesman of the Central Committee of the Union of Agricultural Workers of Korea made public a statement on Friday to hit out at the "Grand National Party" for railroading the "motion calling for ratification of the U.S.-S. Korea Free Trade Agreement" through the "National Assembly".

The statement said:

The passage of the FTA is a blatant challenge to the just demand of the south Korean farmers and other people for defending the national dignity and sovereignty and rights to existence against the foreign forces' domination and subjugation. It is also a pro-U.S. treachery that leaves not only the economic sovereignty but people's rights to existence to the disposal of outside forces.

The UAWK Central Committee strongly denounces the GNP's railroading of the motion in the name of the Korean nation, branding it as an intolerable crime against the nation and people that helps U.S. tighten its domination and subjugation over south Korea and brings bigger damage to the farmers and other south Koreans.

The motion carriage will deepen the south Korean economy's dependence on U.S. monopoly capital, leaving south Korea with empty coffer and endangering the people's livelihood.

It will also allow U.S.-made agricultural and livestock products to find their ways to the south Korean markets unhindered, putting south Korea's agriculture and stockbreeding industry on the verge of depression.

FTA will force hundreds of thousands of farmers to lose their jobs, according to a data underreported by the puppet authorities.

The puppet group strangles the people to death with the conclusion of the humiliating agreement for the sake of foreign forces and one percent of pro-U.S. privileged circles, utterly indifferent to the life of the 99 percent of people. It is tantamount to the "second Ri Wan Yong" and "Ulsa five traitors of the 21st century" nothing different from the "five traitors of 1905" who sold the country to foreign forces about 100 years ago.

The UAWK Central Committee strongly calls on the south Korean farmers to turn out in an action in firm solidarity with other people for the nullification of the FTA and to put an end to the U.S. colonial rule over south Korea and punish the group of pro-U.S. traitors including the GNP.
