Pyongyang, November 26 (KCNA) -- A country has recently developed a device for efficiently purifying the soil contaminated with radioactive substances.

If the soil contaminated with radioactive substances is put into water solution of oxalic acid, cesium is dissolved out. It is removed by a small device for purifying sewage.

It has been confirmed that the contamination can be decreased by less than one tenth not harmful to environment according to the results of the test of the soil containing cesium of tens of thousands Bq per kg.

It is reported that the new device is capable of disposing of ten tons of soil a day.
