War Exercise of S. Korean Warmongers Assailed

Pyongyang, November 26 (KCNA) -- The south Korean warmongers kicked off big war exercise against the DPRK one year after the Yonphyong Island shelling incident. Far from drawing a due lesson from the incident, they keep blaming the shelling on the "provocation" of the DPRK. Terming the exercise a grave military provocation against the DPRK, Rodong Sinmun Saturday says in a bylined article: The south Korean authorities have misused the incident as a means for justifying and intensifying their racket for escalating confrontation with the DPRK and invading it for the past one year. No sooner had the incident occurred than the south Korean chief executive cried out for "making manifold retaliation" and "attacking missile bases in the north" as if he had been waiting for it to happen. This has strained the situation to the extreme pitch of tension. The dust barely settled on the island before the puppet warmongers allowed the U.S. nuclear carrier flotilla to enter the West Sea of Korea to stage the biggest combined marine exercises with the U.S. They even set up Northwest Islands Defense Command which would spearhead armed provocations and attack operations in the West Sea and orchestrated hideous provocations hurting the dignity of the supreme leadership of the DPRK. The clan of the Unification Ministry, citing the shelling incident as a pretext, put off the north-south Red Cross talks for an indefinite period and totally suspended NGO north-south visits and cooperation that had been barely underway. The conservative authorities implored the U.S. and other outsiders not to hold any dialogue with the north but put tougher sanctions against it unless "Cheonan" and Yonphyong cases are settled. This proves that the south Korean authorities deliberately provoked the shelling and bedeviled the north-south relations under that pretext, increasing the danger of a nuclear war on the Korean Peninsula. |
