Pyongyang, November 27 (KCNA) -- The nominee for assistant secretary of the U.S. Department of Defense, told at a recent Senate Armed Services Committee hearing that the DPRK's missiles and "WMD program" pose a serious and direct threat to the U.S.' allies in the region and its territory and that the DPRK is engaged in "WMD proliferation". Other department officials have parroted such remarks.

Commenting on this, a news analyst of Rodong Sinmun Sunday says:

Their slanders to the DPRK fully reveal once again that the U.S. is the arch criminal in wrecking peace and stability in the Korean Peninsula and the rest of the world.

The demeanor of the U.S. warlike forces is as shameless as a thief crying "Stop the thief!"

What they have sought in distorting the truth is to brand the DPRK as a "threat" to the U.S.' allies in the region and its territory and then justify the U.S. hostile policy for aggression on the DPRK.

Another aim is to legitimate the U.S. military reinforcement in the Asia-Pacific region.

It is no accident that the U.S. is intensifying the smear campaign against the DPRK with false and fabricated data. This is a last-ditch effort of those frightened at the fact that the U.S. is further getting isolated worldwide while the DPRK's international prestige is remarkably rising.

The U.S. belligerent forces are making desperate efforts as much as possible to browbeat and subjugate the DPRK, but their scheme is bound to face failure.

With any slander the U.S. can neither impair the high external authority of the DPRK nor frighten the Korean people.
