Pyongyang, November 28 (KCNA) -- The Nepali and Mexican newspapers carried special write-ups to mark the 20th anniversary of General Secretary Kim Jong Il's assumption of supreme commandership of the Korean People's Army.

The Nepali newspaper Charcha on November 21 carried an article titled "Supreme Commander Kim Jong Il, 1991-2011" with his photo.

His 20-year long history as supreme commander of the KPA is shining in history, the paper said, and went on:

Supreme Commander Kim Jong Il has put the defence capacity of the country on the highest stage.

He saw to it that the modernization of the national defence industry was pushed forward in reliance on its own strength, technology and raw materials.

Kim Jong Il has successfully defended socialism.

He published several works in which he clarified the law governing socialist construction, its historical inevitability and fundamental ways for the victory of socialism, putting it on the new scientific basis.

He frustrated the moves of the imperialist allied forces to stifle socialism.

Noting that Kim Jong Il ushered in the new era of building a great prosperous and powerful socialist nation, the paper introduced achievements performed by the Korean people in building an economic power under his leadership.

The Mexican newspaper Unidad Nacional on November 15 carried an article "The Supreme Commander and Soldier Family" with a photo of Kim Jong Il inspecting a KPA unit.
