Choe Ho Song, Engineer at Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex

Pyongyang, November 28 (KCNA) -- Choe Ho Song, 60, has worked at the Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex for more than 30 years after graduating from Hamhung University of Hydraulic Engineering.

Now he is an engineer of the hot-rolling shop at the complex.

He has greatly contributed to putting the nation's metal industry on the Juche basis by making nearly 60 technological innovations and inventions, including the introduction of high-temperature air combustion technology in hot-rolling process.

He renewed the fuel supplying system for heating furnace to sharply reduce its starting time and increase its serviceable life and production capacity.

The technology of depositing iron cast roll developed by him is of great importance in metallurgical industry.

General Secretary Kim Jong Il, who visited the complex in April this year, saw the operation of the high-temperature air combustion heating furnace and expressed great satisfaction over the new method of steel production based on fuel available in the country, not heavy oil.

He appreciated Choe Ho Song as a patriotic-minded technician for his contribution to developing the nation's metal industry and for his training of many technicians and skilled workers.
