Rodong Sinmun Blames S. Korea for Coiling up Tension

Pyongyang, November 29 (KCNA) -- The frayed north-south ties and the tensions running high on the Korean Peninsula are attributable to the south Korean conservative authorities' dangerous racket for military confrontation with the DPRK, says Rodong Sinmun Tuesday in a bylined article. Blaming the stalled north-south relations on the military confrontation racket, the article goes on: The north-south relations have reached the lowest ebb and extreme tensions and the danger of a war mounted in the Korean Peninsula. This is an inevitable result of the confrontation racket kicked up by the south Korean warmongers. The present south Korean authorities totally denied the dialogue and cooperation with the compatriots and worked with bloodshot eyes to realize their ambition of invading the DPRK through military confrontation. The incidents of warship "Cheonan" and the Yonphyong Island shelling clearly proved the dangerous and reckless nature of the south Korean warmongers' military racket aimed to ignite a new war even by hurting the north-south reconciliation and unity. This confrontation racket ruined the north-south relations and increased the danger of a war against the DPRK. They can never flee from the responsibility for having hindered north-south dialogue and cooperation and escalated the danger of a nuclear war on the Korean Peninsula. Detente, peace and improvement of the north-south relations are the common desire and wish of all the Koreans. Even those countries around the peninsula are becoming assertive calling for holding talks and mending the north-south relations. The south Korean conservative group, however, runs headlong into military confrontation with the DPRK, defying the will for a switchover in the "policy towards the DPRK". Its military confrontation racket will end up in its ultimate ruin. |
