Pyongyang, November 30 (KCNA) -- The Sri Lankan president on Sunday declared opening the country's first highway.

President's media reported that President Mahinda Rajapaksa ceremoniously opened the highway in the southern part of the country.

The 95km highway connects the capital Colombo and southern city of Galle.

The government hopes it will contribute to growth of better logistics, mitigation of traffic congestion, and promote regional economic development.
