Pyongyang, December 1 (KCNA) -- Media of Bangladesh and Russia carried special write-ups on November 24 and 25 to mark the 20th anniversary of General Secretary Kim Jong Il's assumption of supreme commandership of the Korean People's Army.

The Bangladeshi newspaper Blits carried an article titled "The Songun Politics, Original Political Mode" with a photo of the leader acknowledging the cheering masses.

Kim Jong Il established the Songun politics as a main political mode under socialism for the first time in history by carrying forward President Kim Il Sung's idea and line of attaching importance to the army and military affairs, the paper said, adding:

He accomplished the historic cause of establishing the Korean-style political mode suited to the special condition under which the DPRK is building socialism in confrontation with the imperialists.

The Songun politics is a political mode that helps defend the country, revolution and socialism and accelerate socialist construction with the People's Army as a core and driving force.

This politics is the eternal political mode of the Workers' Party of Korea.

A Russian magazine carried an article titled "Powerful Military Capability of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea".

It was of historic significance in defending and glorifying socialism that the Korean people acclaimed Kim Jong Il as the KPA supreme commander twenty years ago, the article noted, saying:

Kim Jong Il has strengthened in an overall way the political and ideological might of the People's Army under the banner of Songun.

Thanks to the Songun politics the DPRK had access to reliable nuclear deterrent and turned into an impregnable fortress.
