Anniversary of Kim Jong Il's Work Observed

Pyongyang, December 1 (KCNA) -- An academic symposium and experience-sharing meeting of officials in the field of revolutionary relic preservation took place here Thursday. It marks the 20th anniversary of General Secretary Kim Jong Il's historic letter "Let Us Successfully Carry Forward and Develop the Revolutionary Traditions of Juche."

The work, published on Dec. 5, Juche 80 (1991), clarifies the essence of the work of revolutionary relic preservation, its main principle, tasks, etc.

Present there were Kim Jong Im, director of the Party History Institute of the C.C., the Workers' Party of Korea, officials concerned, officials in the field of revolutionary relic preservation and teachers of universities.

The speakers said that to successfully carry forward and develop the revolutionary traditions as required by the Songun era provides a sure guarantee for accomplishing the revolutionary cause of Juche, adding that to protect valuable treasure of the Korean revolution is the first mission and sacred duty of the officials in the field of revolutionary relic preservation.

They referred to the achievements and experience gained in the work of revolutionary relic preservation in the past, calling for devoting wisdom and enthusiasm to glorifying the immortal exploits of great persons of Mt. Paektu.
