Pyongyang, December 1 (KCNA) -- Damage by radioactive contamination following the accident at the Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant is increasing in Japan.

During monitoring at around 30 spots in Kashiwa City, Chiba Prefecture, up to 450,000 becquerels of radioactive cesium per kilogram of soil was detected in the soil between 5 to 10 centimeters below the surface near the ditch, the minister of Environment said on Nov. 28.

1,050 becquerels of radioactive cesium at the maximum was detected in rice harvested at three farms in Fukushima Prefecture, the prefectural authorities said on the same day.
