Pyongyang, December 1 (KCNA) -- Mt. Chilbo in the northeastern part of Korea has drawn 550 Chinese tourists from October 8.

They went to the famous mountain by train, belonging to five groups.

An official of the State General Bureau of Tourism, Jong Il Hyon, told KCNA:

The Chinese tourists admired fantastic rocks, beautiful pavilions and other beauty spots of the mountain.

They were greatly interested in legends and historical stories about the mountain.

They enjoyed themselves in Sea Chilbo, taking a variety of seafood.

During the tourism they stayed in dwelling houses together with their owners. The houses are of one or two stories and of Korean and European styles. Their accommodation capacity is 40-100 people.

After touring the mountain, they had a hot-spring bath in Kyongsong County and visited Chongjin City.

The Mt. Chilbo tourism provided the tourists with a good understanding of the Korean people's history, culture, traditions and customs.

They requested officials of the Korean travel agency to organize such tourism in all seasons and extend its period.

The tourism took place in the form of one night and two days, two nights and three days, and three nights and four days.
