Beijing, November 30 (KCNA) -- An annual meeting of the Chinese Society for Research of Women and a symposium on the development of the Chinese women in the new era and sex equality were held in Beijing recently.

Addressing the meeting, Chen Zhili, chairwoman of the society, said implementing the spirit of the Sixth Plenum of the 17th C.C., the Communist Party of China should be closely combined with the theoretical research for the women to encourage them to fully discharge their role in the establishment of the socialist hardcore value.

She also called for categorically opposing such practices as disrespecting and insulting women and infringing on their legal rights and interests.
