Pyongyang, December 1 (KCNA) -- Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, sent a message of greeting to Lao President Choummaly Sayasone on Thursday on the 36th anniversary of the founding of the Lao People's Democratic Republic.

Kim Yong Nam in his message said the Lao people have achieved great successes in national defence and economic construction while firmly defending gains of the revolution under the correct leadership of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party for the past 36 years.

The Korean people are pleased with it and sincerely hope that the friendly Lao people would achieve prosperity and development of the country by fully implementing the decision of the 9th Congress of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, he said.

He expressed belief that the traditional relations of friendship and cooperation between the two countries forged by President Kim Il Sung and respected leader of the Lao people Kaysone Phomvihane would continue to develop in the way for socialism against imperialism. He wished the Lao president good health and greater success in his responsible work.
