Pyongyang, December 2 (KCNA) -- Indonesia on Tuesday called on the international community to offer their strong support to the Palestinian efforts.

Triyono Wibowo, Indonesian permanent representative to the United Nations, made the statement as he was speaking at a meeting of the UN General Assembly to mark the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, which falls on Nov. 29.

"Indonesia remains committed to the pursuit of an independent, viable and democratic Palestine," Wibowo said.

"In our view, if Israel truly wishes to resolve the conflict with Palestine, she must respond by determining that it must work within the dictates of international rule, and not its own narrow interests," he said.

"All parties must show the necessary leadership, courage and responsibility that will enable them to arrive at a mutually agreeable and lasting peace that would resolve all final status issues," he added.
