Pyongyang, December 2 (KCNA) -- The Non-Aligned Movement on Tuesday slammed Israel's settlement activity in the occupied Palestinian territory, saying Israel's pattern of "provocative" action in the West Bank is a sign. The statement came as the Egyptian permanent representative to the United Nations, Maged Abdel Aziz, was speaking on behalf of the 120 members of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), at the UN General Assembly to mark the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People. Israel is continuing to deliberately obstruct the attainment of peace and security in the Middle East region, Aziz said. The Non-Aligned Movement remains firm in its condemnation of Israel's illegal settlement policies and practices, stressing that all such unlawful attempts to alter the demographic composition, character and status of the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem, remain rejected and unrecognized by the international community," Aziz said. |
