Pyongyang, December 3 (KCNA) -- Genaro Ledesma Izquieta, chairman of the People's Front of Workers, Peasants and Students of Peru, issued a statement on Nov. 24 to mark the 20th anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's assumption of the supreme commandership of the Korean People's Army and the 94th birth anniversary of anti-Japanese war hero Kim Jong Suk.

The historic advance of the Korean people to build a socialist power is based on the Juche idea founded by President Kim Il Sung, the statement said.

It noted that the Juche idea enabled the Korean people to display indomitable heroism in the efforts to bolster up the national defense capability, defend socialism and overcome all sorts of natural disasters.

The economy is developing in DPRK as it is thoroughly applying the requirements of this idea, it noted, adding the DPRK will emerge an economic power in the near future.
