Pyongyang, December 6 (KCNA) -- The Nigerian government has reiterated its determination to fight corruption to ensure the success of its transformation agenda and restore the good image of the country.

Vice President Namadi Sambo made the reaffirmation on Thursday at a ceremony in honor of the recipients of the Nigerian National Merit Award for 2010 and 2011.

Sambo described corruption in Nigeria as a "cancer," which had thwarted the government efforts to improve the quality of people's life.
