Pyongyang, December 6 (KCNA) -- Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army Kim Jong Il, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission, enjoyed an art performance given by servicepersons of companies under KPA Units 762, 966, 630, 337 and 233 who proved successful at the 35th servicepersons' art festival of the KPA.

They put on the stage colorful numbers of diverse genres including poem recital "Recollecting General's Jeep", narration and chorus "Let Us Sing of Fatherly Love," harmonica solo "The Kitchen Wagon Runs," sketch "Birthplace of Soldier", willow flute ensemble "Country Will Always Remember Them," poem and story-telling "At Old Battlefield", dialogic poem "General and Our Snow Flower Company", one-man show "Decorum and Morals of Soldier", instrumental quintet "I Am Girl Soldier in Songun Era", story-telling and song "Our Army and Our People" and chorus "Arms of Mt. Paektu Will Reply".

The performance fully demonstrated the determination of the servicepersons of the People's Army to keep to the road of devotedly protecting the leader and safeguard the socialist country as human bullets and bombs.

He expressed great satisfaction over the splendid performance staged by the company servicepersons as it is replete with the revolutionary soldier spirit. He extended special thanks of the KPA Supreme Commander to them.

He sent them the highest appreciation, saying it was the performance strong and clear in the ideological stand as it answered the question as to what is the true nature of the KPA, the presentation which one wishes to watch everyday and the most successful one.

He told commanding officers to highly commend those performers so that their parents in their native places might be proud of them.

Noting that this performance was the best of those given by the company servicepersons so far, he extended thanks to the officials who sincerely helped the servicepersons in their mass cultural activities and told the commanding officers to properly commend them.

He said the performance given this time once again proved that the real worth of art lays not in high artistry but in the influence it exercises on masses and how it arouses their thoughts.

He noted that the servicepersons of the People's Army have grown to be stalwart soldiers who are strong in ideology and faith as they are fully prepared politically and ideologically and in military technique and acquired high cultural attainments, adding that the socialist country is invulnerable as it is guarded by the army strong in ideology.

He had a photo session with the above-said company servicepersons.

Among the audience were senior officials of the Party and armed forces organs Kim Jong Un, Ri Yong Ho, Kim Yong Chun, Kim Ki Nam, Choe Thae Bok, Kim Kyong Hui, Jang Song Thaek, Kim Jong Gak, Kim Yang Gon, Pak To Chun, Choe Ryong Hae, Kim Phyong Hae, Mun Kyong Dok, U Tong Chuk and Ri Myong Su, KPA Generals Kim Myong Guk, Kim Won Hong, Pak Jae Gyong, Ri Pyong Chol, Yun Jong Rin and Hyon Chol Hae, officials of the WPK Central Committee, servicepersons of the People's Army and officials in the fields of literature and art and media.
