Moscow, December 7 (KCNA) -- The 70th anniversary of the start of the counter-attack on the fascist German aggressors near Moscow was marked in Russia.

Russian President Dmitri Medvedev laid a bouquet before the memorial tower on the suburbs of Moscow on Dec. 5 in memory of the soldiers who laid down at the battle for defense of Moscow.

Meanwhile, there took place that day a ceremony of laying wreaths and flowers before the Tomb of Unknown Soldier by the Wall of the Kremlin.

Present there were Sergei Sobyanin, mayor of Moscow, members of the Moscow City Government, City Assemblymen, war veterans and delegates of youth organizations and public organization.

An art performance for congratulating defenders of Moscow and war veterans, a meeting with war veterans, an exhibition and other colorful events were held in Moscow on this occasion.
