Pyongyang, December 8 (KCNA) -- Syrian missile forces have carried out a "practical project" with the aim of testing the missile weaponry in confronting attacks, local daily al-Thawra reported on Monday.

During the practice held Sunday evening, "the missile forces performed the project with accuracy and achieved distinctive results," the paper said.

The defense minister of Syria declared that the armed forces will remain loyal to the homeland and defend the interests of the Syrian people.

He urged the armed forces to remain on high alert to carry out any mission they might be entrusted with.
