Pyongyang, December 8 (KCNA) -- The United Confederation of Koreans in Far Eastern Region of Russia held a meeting in Nakhodka on Dec. 2 to mark the 20th anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's assumption of supreme commandership of the Korean People's Army and the 94th birth anniversary of Kim Jong Suk, an anti-Japanese war hero.

The participants laid a floral basket and bouquets before the full- length portraits of President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il to pay tribute to them.

Speakers at the meeting said that Kim Jong Il has demonstrated to the whole world the dignity and might of the Korean nation with his inexhaustible Songun revolutionary leadership.

He has devoted his all to building a socialist thriving nation in which the people will lead a happy life with nothing to envy, as desired by mother Kim Jong Suk, they noted.

Then an art performance was given by Korean artistes.

That day the participants watched the Korean film "Pyongyang Today".

They also looked round exhibits on display at the meeting hall. The exhibits included photos on the exploits performed by Kim Jong Il through his revolutionary activities and photos, books and publications showing the army and people of the DPRK in their heroic drive to accelerate national reunification and socialist construction.
