Pyongyang, December 9 (KCNA) -- Events took place in different countries between Nov. 30 and Dec. 5 to mark the 20th anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's assumption of supreme commandership of the Korean People's Army and the 94th birth anniversary of Kim Jong Suk, an anti-Japanese war hero. They included meetings in Romania and Benin and opening ceremony of Korean book and handicraft exhibition and photo exhibition in Russia.

Displayed in their venues were works of President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il, photos on their immortal exploits and books, photos and handicrafts showing the might of Songun Korea.

The chairman of the Supreme Council of the Socialist Party of Romania said that the might of the KPA has remarkably strengthened and the DPRK has turned into a country of Songun with powerful military muscle under the guidance of Supreme Commander Kim Jong Il.

The chairman of the Benin-Korea Amicable Association "Long Live Kim Jong Il, Supreme Leader" noted that Kim Jong Il has reliably carried forward the President's idea and exploits in army building.

The secretary general of the Benin National Committee for the Study of the Juche Idea and General Kim Jong Il's Works said: In her lifetime Kim Jong Suk used to request his son to be excellent general in the future like the President. Her request and desire have become a brilliant reality with the picture of the DPRK advancing toward prosperity under the Songun leadership of Kim Jong Il.

The mayor of Khabarovsk City of Russia wished the Korean people great success in socialist construction under wise guidance of Kim Jong Il.
