Pyongyang, December 9 (KCNA) -- Delegates of different countries to the forum on the tasks of political parties to cope with the crisis of capitalism held in Brazil made public a joint statement "We fully support the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) and the Korean people in the efforts to build a prosperous and powerful socialist country" on Dec. 1.

They were delegates of the Brazilian Communist Party, the Socialist Party of Argentina, the Socialist Party of Chile, the Socialist Party of Uruguay, the Socialist Party of Ecuador, the Socialist Party of Peru, the Progressive Movement of Colombia and the Lebanese Communist Party.

The statement said:

Now in the DPRK a gigantic work is going on to realize the lifelong desire of President Kim Il Sung and fresh miracles and innovations are being wrought day after day.

We are sure that under the Songun revolutionary leadership of General Secretary Kim Jong Il, the WPK and the Korean people will achieve signal successes in the work to commemorate the centenary of birth of the President as the most auspicious holiday common to the world's progressive mankind.

We extend full support to the WPK and the Korean people in their efforts to open the gate to prosperity.

We call upon the progressive parities and organizations of the world to extend support and solidarity to the Korean people in their struggle to defend socialism and realize the independent and peaceful reunification of the country.
