Pyongyang, December 9 (KCNA) -- The south Korean warmongers kicked off a large-scale saber-rattling, while trumpeting about "punishment", instead of looking back upon their crime of having preempted a fire into the inviolable territorial waters of the DPRK one year ago and practicing self-restraint. This is a reckless act that can be committed by those who are bereft of reason.

Rodong Sinmun Friday says this in a bylined article.

The moves to provoke a war against the DPRK are a treacherous act openly denying the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration, the paper says, adding:

It is beyond doubt that if these declarations are successfully implemented, the Korean people's desire for the peaceful reunification of the country will come true.

The south Korean authorities, however, have escalated the confrontation with the DPRK in collusion with outside forces and stooped to any infamy to ignite a war against it under the absurd pretexts of forcing it to "scrap its nukes first" and leading it to "opening". Their criminal acts, a blatant challenge to the inter-Korean declarations, clearly show the sinister intention of the warmongers who are least interested in the peaceful reunification of the country.

What the present ruling forces of south Korea are seeking is the "unification under the system of liberal democracy" presupposing doing harm to the compatriots' idea and system with armed forces, not an independent and peaceful reunification unanimously desired by the Koreans.

The DPRK wants the improved north-south relations and peace of the country, but it will never show mercy to the traitors who are intent on the moves to provoke a war in collusion with outside forces, clean indifferent to the nation's reconciliation, unity and reunification.

Their moves will invite nothing but a miserable end.
