Pyongyang, December 9 (KCNA) -- Provincial prospecting bureaus of the DPRK have produced good results in this year's geological and hydrogeological surveys.

The Namsagang and Huchang prospecting corps under the Ryanggang Provincial Prospecting Bureau finished a survey of valuable minerals in different areas of the province by mid-November.

The South Hamgyong Provincial Prospecting Bureau carried out a boring prospecting in the eastern part of Mt. Komdok, finding out mineral deposits as large as hundreds of thousands of tonnes.

Large coal deposits were discovered by the South Phyongan Provincial Prospecting Bureau.

The North Hamgyong Provincial Hydrogeological Prospecting Bureau completed an initial prospecting in Samjiyon, Taehongdan, Paekam and Yonsa counties for the survey of the volcanic activity in Mt. Paektu.

The Jagang, South Hamgyong and South Phyongan provincial prospecting bureaus have overfulfilled their boring plans for the construction of the Huichon Power Plant.

The South Hwanghae Provincial Prospecting Bureau successfully carried out a foundation project for waterway construction.
