Natural Disasters in Thailand and Colombia

Pyongyang, December 10 (KCNA) -- In Thailand a total of 677 people were confirmed dead and three people were missing in the floods that have inundated the upper part of the country for about four months, the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Department reported on Wednesday. Ayutthaya has the highest death toll where 139 people were killed by flood. The government is taking relief measures. Meanwhile, at least seven people were killed in a landslide Monday in rural areas of Tolima province in central-eastern Colombia, local authorities said. According to Colombia's Risk Management Office, disasters in the ongoing rainy season have left 120 people dead, 21 missing and 105 injured. |
