Havana, December 14 (KCNA) -- Cuba is putting efforts into protecting environment in the Gulf of Havana.

A state executive group, organized by the Cuban government, carried out plans for environmental protection in the area including water purification system and garbage disposal.

2,000 odd students conducted active information service on the issue of environmental protection among residents.

As a result, more than 55 percent of the contamination factors have been removed from the Gulf.
