Pyongyang, December 14 (KCNA) -- An earthquake measuring 5.8 on the Richter scale jolted Ryukyu Islands, Japan on Sunday.

The epicenter was 27.90 km deep in the sea off the islands.

An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 5.4 jolted Kagoshima Prefecture on Sunday morning.
