Foreign Papers Mark Birth Anniversary of Kim Jong Suk

Pyongyang, December 15 (KCNA) -- Newspapers of Russia and Uruguay carried articles with photos of Kim Jong Suk, an anti-Japanese war hero and woman commander of Mt. Paektu, to mark the 94th anniversary of her birth.

The Russian paper Nakhodkinski Rabochi on Dec.8 said that Kim Jong Suk was a prominent woman revolutionary who devoted all her life to the social emancipation of women and the development of women's movement.

She led the women step by step during the days of her underground activities and her participation in the military and political training for the final decisive battle for Korea's liberation, it noted.

It also cited concrete facts to show that she aroused the women to turn out in the drive to build a new country while aiding President Kim Il Sung in his activities after the national liberation.

Her feats for development of the women's movement will remain long with socialist Korea registering victory after victory, the paper added.

The Uruguayan paper La Juventud on Dec. 6 elaborated on the contributions she made to national liberation and the building of a new society.
