S. Korean Warmongers Warned against Military Provocations: Minju Joson

Pyongyang, December 15 (KCNA) -- The south Korean warmongers fired on Monday thousands of shells into the waters off the western Paekryong Island and southeastern Yonphyong Island with K-9 self-propelled artillery pieces and other firearms. Both islands lie south of the "northern limit line". Calling the shelling drill a "regular training", they argued that it is aimed to "review performance of weapons". Minju Joson Thursday observes in this regard in a bylined commentary: The drill is a belligerent move running counter to the desire of all Koreans for the improved north-south relations, the commentary says, adding it is an undisguised revelation of their anti-DPRK war hysteria that has reached extremes. The alleged "regular drill" is sophism to cover up their true colors as war maniacs as it was staged with huge armed forces involved in the area where tensions run highest. The ulterior aim sought by them is to create circumstances similar to that of the Yonphyong Island shelling incident and find an excuse to provoke a war against the DPRK. Instead of drawing lessons from the Yonphyong Island incident, the south Korean warlike forces blared that they would "counterattack not only bases of provocations but commanding posts and backup forces that can mount additional attacks". Their anti-DPRK war moves getting serious with each passing day stoke the tensions of the Korean Peninsula. If they dare fire even a single shell into the inviolable territorial sea, air and land of the DPRK, the deluge of fire of the Yonphyong Island will lead to that of Chongwadae. They should not run amuck, mindful that the DPRK's warning is by no means an empty talk. |
