Army Song "At a Breath"

Pyongyang, December 15 (KCNA) -- The army song "At a Breath" enjoyed great popularity in the art performance given recently by company soldiers who distinguished themselves at the 35th servicepersons' art festival. The song, written by Yun Tu Gun, represents the matchless grit and courage of the soldiers of the Korean People's Army. The song is full of the soldiers' spirit of defeating any invaders at one stroke. It also sings of the soldiers creditably discharging their missions. Characterized by a martial and light melody, the song serves as a good example in creating songs in the Songun (military-first) era. Revolutionary army songs began to be created in Korea along with the founding of the Korean People's Revolutionary Army, the first genuine armed forces of the Korean people. They include "Korean People's Revolutionary Army" and "Guerrilla March". Many army songs were created later, encouraging the army and the people in their efforts for defending the nation and achieving its prosperity. |
