Kim Jong Il Gives Field Guidance to Hana Music Information Center

Pyongyang, December 15 (KCNA) -- General Secretary Kim Jong Il gave field guidance to the Hana Music Information Center.

The center situated in Thongil Street is an integrated base for art information which collects, edits and disseminates data on music and dance of Korea and other countries.

Touring e-library on music, multiplexer appreciation room and other parts of the center, leader Kim Jong Il learnt about its construction and management.

He noted with high appreciation that the center has been wonderfully built to show the modern sense of beauty by decorating its exterior with stone through dry construction method and ensuring effective internal building in a versatile way.

He was also pleased to see the modernly equipped e-library on music built to suite the individual characters of experts in music and dance and amateurs.

At the multiplexer appreciation room furnished with modern stereo sound facilities, he personally listened to music and said that the room has been well designed enough to give such effect that anyone can feel himself or herself enjoying music in a theater.

In order to run the center in an effective way, he said, it is important above all to collect a lot of art pieces including Korean music and world famous music.

The center should have all materials and data on art such as records of new songs, sheets of music and books on music and dance published in the country, he urged. Adding that he would offer all of the music pieces, systematically collected by him over the past decades of guidance over the revolution and construction, he called for inputting them for the people to widely enjoy and use them.

He went round the production site of the Hana Electronic Joint Venture Company arranged on the second floor of the center.

Touring various parts of the site, he acquainted himself in detail with production capacity and variety and quality of products.

He expressed great satisfaction over the fact that the company has produced many various kinds of articles for cultural use after building the production process of electronic products with an annual capacity of hundreds of thousands of products.

Watching DVDs being fitted in the streamline process, he said that products are of high quality and very perfect.

In particular, portable DVD with function of TV is well designed, he said.

After learning about the research and development of new electronic products, he praised the exceptionally creative spirit of the company officials and employees who are dynamically waging the drive to push back the frontiers of latest science and technology.

Daily growing is the demand of the Korean people for cultural articles including DVDs, he said, urging the company to produce various kinds of electronic products in a larger quantity.

He was accompanied by Kim Jong Un, vice-chairman of the Central Military Commission of the WPK; Kim Kyong Hui, member of the Political Bureau and department director of the C.C., WPK; Jang Song Thaek, alternate member of the Political Bureau of the C.C., WPK and vice-chairman of the NDC; Pak To Chun, alternate member of the Political Bureau and secretary of the C.C., WPK; Ju Kyu Chang, alternate member of the Political Bureau and department director of the C.C., WPK; Ri Jae Il, first vice department director of the C.C., WPK; and Kwon Hyok Bong, vice department director of the C.C., WPK.
