Iran Condemns U.S. Military Presence in Afghanistan

Tehran, December 15 (KCNA) -- Iranian Foreign Minister Ali-Akbar Salehi in a diplomatic meeting on Dec. 13 condemned the U.S. military presence in Afghanistan.

He described the existence of foreign military bases in the region as the cause of instability in regional countries.

He said the Islamic Republic is against any treaty that would enable the U.S. forces to remain in Afghanistan.

Iran believes in the competence of Afghan forces in providing security for their own country, he noted.
