Sports Contests for Osandok Prize Open

Pyongyang, December 16 (KCNA) -- Sports contests for Osandok Prize opened with due ceremony on the birth anniversary of Kim Jong Suk, an anti-Japanese war hero, in the DPRK.

Their participants will compete in such events as ice-hockey, figure-skating, speed skating, short-track speed skating, and skiing in various parts of the DPRK including Pyongyang and Lake Samji.

An opening ceremony took place at the Ice Rink in Pyongyang on Friday.

Present there were Choe Ryong Hae, secretary of the C.C., the Workers' Party of Korea, officials concerned and sports persons.

Kim Pyong Sik, vice-minister of Physical Culture and Sports, made an inaugural speech.
